Athletes from around the globe will gather in Daegu, Korea's third largest city, with less than 50 days left before the 2011 Daegu International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships. 3,822 – 2,452 athletes and 1,370 officials from 202 member federations and 213 countries – had confirmed their participation as of May 6.

Introduction of the Marathon Course
This course presents the opportunity for one to feel the ‘Green’ Daegu and to enjoy the city’s downtown area.
The course starts at the Gukchae - bosang Memorial Park and passes by many of the representative attractions of Daegu is relatively smooth for the Marathon Course and will present a good chance for one to experience the lives of the Daegu citizens. Moreover, the marathoners of the 2011 Daegu IAAF World Championships will fully enjoy the fresh
early-fall weather of South Korea.
