Preview in the IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 - Day 5



Today is the halfway of 9 days’ Championships. Only women’s 20k Race Walk final will be held in Gukchae bosang memorial park. Russian athlete Sokolova set the record of 1h25m8s in women’s 20k Race Walk.

On the day of six, R1 of men’s events like Shot Put, Long Jump, 5,000m, 4 X 400m Relay and 
Qual A&B for women’s events such as Javelin Throw, High Jump, 200m, 800m will be held in the morning session. Noteworthy athlete is American sprinter Allyson Felix in women’s 200m.
She won three consecutive championships in 2005, 2007 and 2009 IAAF World Championships.
In the qualifying round for men’s Long Jump, Korean gold medalist in Guangzhou Asian Games 2010, KIM Duck-Hyun Kim will take part in the event.

Finals for men’s High Jump, women’s Triple Jump, men’s 3,000m SC, women’s 1,500m and women and men’s Hurdle will be held in the evening session. In addition, there are also semi-finals for men’s Javelin Throw, women’s 200m and men’s 1,500m.
In men’s High Jump final, the IAAF Championship winner in 2007 and 2009, Russian Yaroslav Rybakov and Ivan Ukhov will compete for the gold medal.

Korean athlete Park Jae-Myong will participate in qualifying round for men’s Javelin Throw.
