Traffic information during Daegu 2011. Free buses!


For the IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011, streets near Daegu Stadium will be closed to traffic and parking spaces around Daegu Stadium will not be available. The Organizing Committee strongly advises the general spectators to use public transportations. 

Shuttle and Intra-City Bus Information 

1. Shuttle from Gosan & Sinmae Station to Daegu Stadium 
   - Operating Period : 27 ~ 30 Aug & 1 ~ 4 Sep 2011 
   - Operating Hours : 27 Aug 07:30 ~ 23: 30 
                               28 Aug ~ 4 Sep 07:30 ~ Two Hours after each Evening Session 
   - Route: Gosan Station (Subway Line 2) - Sinmae station (Subway Line 2) - Daegu Stadium

2. Shuttle to Yulha Station
   - Operating Period : 27 ~ 30 Aug & 1 ~ 4 Sep 2011 
   - Operating Hours : 07:30- 24:00
   - Route : Yulha Station (Subway Line 1) - Daegu Station

3. Shuttle to Dongdaegu KTX Station
   - Operating Period : 27 ~ 30 Aug & 1 ~ 4 Sep 2011 
   - Operating Hours : 07:30- 24:00 on 27 Aug ~ 2 Sep 
                         16:00- 24:00 on 3~ 4 SepRoute : Dongdaegu KTX Station <-> Daegu Stadium  
   - Bus stop : Overpass on the northern side of Dongdaegu KTX Station 

4. Shuttle to/from Beommul-dong to Daegu Stadium 
   - Operating Period: 27 ~ 30 Aug & 1 ~ 4 Sep 2011 
   - Operating Hours: 07:30- 24:00
   - Route: East Side of Beommul Police Station - Daegu Station


Intra-City Buses will detour during the road races. 

❍ Women's Marathon : 27 Aug 09:00
     Men's Marathon : 4 Sep 09:00
  ※ Detour path : 
      Buses that goes east and west of Daegu will detour to Taepyeongno and Dusanno, 
   Buses that goes south and north of Daegu will go through Seoseongno→Sincheon Boulevard.  

❍ Men's 20k Race Walk : 28 Aug 
    Women's 20k Race Walk : 31 Aug
    Men's 50k Race Walk : 3 Sep 
   ※ Detour path : 
       Buses that goes east and west of Daegu will detour to Taepyeongno and Dusanno, 
    Buses that goes south and north of Daegu will go through Seoseongno→Sincheon Boulevard.

ꊱ  Increase in the number of trains in Subway 1 and 2 Number of Trains will be increased three hours prior and two hours after each session. 
    - Operating Hours : Morning Session 07:00~10:00 & 13:00~15:00                  
    - Evening Session : 16:00~19:00) & 23:00~01:00

ꊱ  Traffic control upon Road Race 

《 Marathon 》


 - Hours : 06:00 ~ 12:00 No throughfare around Gukchae-bosang Memorial Park
              08:00 ~ 12:00 No throughfare on the marathon course

 - Time available for traffic : After ambulance at the tail of a queue passes  ~ 15 minutes before leading group arrives    

 - As for selective marathon courses, part of roads will be open for vehicles.      
   · Dongdaeguro (Dusan five-way crossing→Beomeo junction) : 
     the other side of the road that is not used for marathon race 
     (Residents can use traffic island)    
   · Traffic island in Jung-gu : Kyungpook University Hospital → right turn at Cool Mart in Samdeok-dong→Sincheon boulevard    
   · Traffic island in the northern area of Suseong-gu : left turn at Hwaseong Ssangyong APT → Sincheondongro   

- Detour at the west of loop course upon Women's Marathon(27 Aug)    
 · Seodaegu IC→Taepyeongno→Sincheondongro→Dongdaegu Station R→
   Hyomok R→Manchon R→Stadium    
   · Sincheon boulevard(Lower) →Chimsan bridge→Bokhyeon five-way crossing→ 
 Hyomok overpass→Gomoro→Stadium→Sincheondongro→U-turn towards City Hall→Dongdaegu Station junction→Hyomok underpass→Stadium    
 · Sincheon boulevard(Upper)→Kyungdae bridge→Daegu Technical High School R→Sincheon R→Dongdaegu Station R→Hyomok underpass→Stadium

《 Race Walk》  


 - Vicinity of Gukchaebosang Memorial Park and course: from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. (50k: from  5 a.m.~2 p.m.) No thoroughfare for vehicles.  
  - Street available for traffic : Street in front of Bukwang Union Surgery is open to two-way traffic.
