Watching point - 4. The tension in silence 10,000m

The final of women’s 10,000m and marathon is scheduled to be held on the first day of the IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011.

The 10,000m race is the most time-consuming one among track events which requires to run around a 400m track 25 times .

The longer it goes, you might feel bored for a moment but certainly there is invisible tension in the long silence.

If you get tedious, you’d better to watch other events during 30mins running time.

Long jump, high jump and hammer throw events will be held at the same time during the women’s 10,000m event.

Look forward to the victory of your favorites in 10,000m event.

The two-time Olympic winner in 5,000m and 10,000m and World Championships, Ethiopian long distance runner, Tirunesh Dibaba is likely to gain gold medal of women’s 10,000m but Meselech Melkamu and Meseret Defar from same country are also considerable athletes.

Then how about men’s 10,000m ?

Kenenisa Bekele is the most noteworthy international athlete undoubtedly. He is holding current world record and never missed the top place in 10,000m since winning of World Championships in Paris 2003.
He had to take a rest due to calf muscle injury in 2010 but now is expected to win without any difficulty.

Let’s wait and see who will cut the finish line after long and lonely running.
